Welcome to Sweet Thistle Garden, a small family-run honey business nestled in the peaceful countryside of rural Strathcona County. Our mission is simple: to share pure, raw honey straight from our backyard hives to your table.
What began as a quiet curiosity about bees has blossomed into a full-fledged passion for beekeeping. With six hives buzzing just beyond our kitchen window, our garden has become a sanctuary for pollinators and a source of the most natural, unfiltered honey you can find.
Founded by Shauna Cameron, Sweet Thistle Garden was born from a love for the land and a desire to reconnect with nature’s rhythms. Each drop of honey is a reflection of the wildflowers, trees, and plants that grow in our rural corner of the world — and the hard work of our happy, healthy bees.
100% Raw and Unfiltered – We don’t heat, filter, or process our honey. It’s packed with natural enzymes, pollen, and all the goodness nature intended.
Single-Source Wildflower Honey – Our bees forage freely among wildflowers and blossoms, giving our honey a complex, floral flavor that changes subtly with the seasons.
Ethical Beekeeping – Our bees are cared for year-round with love and attention. We never over-harvest and always put the health of the hive first.
Local and Handmade – Everything we do happens right here at home — from caring for the hives to bottling each jar by hand.
We believe in slow living, natural processes, and treating the earth (and its smallest creatures) with respect. Our honey isn't mass-produced — it's made with patience, purpose, and a deep connection to the land.
Now Offering Nails in the Garden by Haven Nails – We offer gel, poly-gel, shellac nails done by Faith Clarke, aspiring esthetician, by appointment only. Prices vary from $25 - $50. Contact us at 780-966-0807 for more info.
We love sharing our world with others. If you're curious about how honey is made or want to meet the bees up close, we’d be thrilled to give you a tour of our hives. Reach out via our "Contact Us" page to schedule a visit.
Whether you're a longtime honey lover or just discovering the wonders of raw, local honey, we're so glad you're here. Thank you for supporting our family and our bees.
With gratitude,
The Sweet Thistle Garden Family
